Band of Brothers Appreciation Week - Day Four

Of the many things I enjoyed about the Band of Brothers mini-series, one of them was pairing the most opposite of friendships. Richard Winters who came from a strict, conservative, farm life in Pennsylvania and Lewis Nixon who was wealthy, lively and an alcoholic were great friends in real life. And it seems like the writers took that opposites attract friendship and wrote them into several other characters.

Ronald Speirs and Carwood Lipton

War can make unlikely friendships. However, in Band of Brothers, no friendship was more unexpected than that of reserved Carwood Lipton and the legendary killer, Ronald Speirs. While in the Ardennes Forest overlooking the town of Foy, constant inept leadership for Easy Company causes Carwood to fear for the life of his friends. Ronald Speirs was the last man he ever expected to save the company in the middle of a battle much less lead it. However, according to Speirs, who was listening to a few rumors himself, he knew that the company was already being led, by the capable and pragmatic Carwood Lipton. Out of duty and loyalty a friendship is made between the two.

Just be kind. I don't tolerate any rudeness at all. So just be careful with what you write and how you write it.
