Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows

It all ends. The conclusion of Harry Potter's journey from a lonely orphan to a fully trained wizard comes full circle as he finally faces off with his life long nemeses Voldemort. Seeing this series come to an end was bittersweet. To be honest I really don't remember a lot about either films or even seeing them theaters! By the time The Deathly Hallows Pt. 2 was released I was 20 or 21 and had somewhat grown out of Hogwarts and the Wizarding World. However, my love for the series always remains and I've always been proud that I've been on the journey with the Harry Potter kids from day 1.

Voldemort has returned and has begun a reign of terror throughout the Wizarding World. Even Hogwarts is not exempt from his madness. Although Harry Potter has now come of age in the Wizarding World as a recognized legal wizard, his life is still in endless danger. Voldemort will not stop until he has Harry in his possession. While Harry has embraced his destiny as 'the Chosen One,' who is foretold to be the only person that can defeat Voldemort, he is also aware that he cannot complete this monumental task on his own. Ron, Hermione, The Order of the Phoenix, the Weasleys and Dumbledore's Army at Hogwarts will fight and defend Harry Potter; protecting him from any advancing attack that Voldemort may throw. Even it means the loss of life.

It is believed that to end Voldemort, Harry must find the remaining Horcruxes and destroy them. He and his friends set out on their most dangerous and deadly search. Ron and Hermione sacrifice a great deal to aid Harry, leaving behind their families while their own relationship is tested as well. When Harry comes across the legend of the Deathly Hallows, three of the most powerful objects in the Wizarding World, he believes that with Voldemort getting weaker with each destroyed Horcrux, he may result to the Deathly Hallows to regain power.

Soon, the war between Voldemort and his followers against the whole Wizarding World comes to the school grounds of Hogwarts. As Harry watches his friends sacrifice themselves to save him, the death of the most unlikely person uncovers the most powerful truths Harry could never have imagined. In an effort to end this war and Voldemort himself, Harry knows that he himself must confront Voldemort and he must be the ultimate sacrifice.

Win or lose. Live or die. Harry Potter stands before Voldemort, a former orphan who had no home, no family and no capability to feel love, goodness or honor, and only Harry can be the deciding factor, the unexpected twist of fate that will save the Wizarding World and the future generations that will follow.

  • These final two films were perfection. Absolutely no complaints whatsoever.
  • It was good to have the Bill and Fleur's wedding as that last bit of hope for everyone to hold on to.
  • I loved Fleur's wedding dress!
  • Fred and Remus and Tonks and Lavender and Mad-Eye 💓💓💛💓💓
  • Aberforth Dumbledore! As people say, that man is the real GOAT! (I've never been a fan of Albus Dumbledore)
  • The only time I've ever cried reading a book was when Ron is tempted by the Horcrux. Needless to say I teared up during that scene as well.
  • Snape's tears was so powerful and beautiful and heartbreaking. Everything you read in that chapter was full on emotional force in the film.
  • Neville Longbottom. Neville freakin' Longbottom. Talk about a journey of the nobody that people stepped on for so many years and to becoming the most powerful leader that the Wizarding World needed.
  • RIP Helen McRory (Narcissa Malfoy). You brought such strength and beauty to the role of the brave mother whose love for her son saved the world.
  • NOT MY DAUGHTER YOU BITCH!

Harry Potter has become more than just a character in a book series or movie franchise. Harry Potter and the Wizarding World have become a part of our culture. Similar to Star Wars and Star Trek, younger generations aren't really introduced to Harry Potter because it's now so ingrained into our society that even if you've never read the books or seen the films you still know who Harry Potter is.

For me, Harry Potter was that real and relatable boy who had doubts and fears. He could be sweet and snarky. Who had his strengths and weaknesses in both school and his life. Harry Potter taught an entire generation that you value isn't measured in what others think of you. It's in what you do that determines your true worth. Those decisions in your life that will pave your entire journey and be the foundations of the person you choose to become. That is what Harry Potter taught me and still continues to teach me. Even 20 years later, he's still taking me back to Hogwarts.
