December's Promt
Scene by a Christmas tree
It's a Wonderful Life (1946)
This is an ultimate holiday favorite! The culmination of a man's search for the extraordinary found in the ordinary lives of the resident of his endearing little town, but more so in his loving family. When George is given an opportunity to witness a world where he had never been born, he suddenly realizes how important his life has been as well as the lives of the people he grew up around. Although he risks losing everything and even going to jail, his wife pulls off the ultimate miracle and brings the town together. Gathered with his family in front of their beautiful Christmas tree George sees the beauty in his simple, but wonderful life.
Ahh, so iconic and amazing. <3 While it is kind of true that Capra's directing style isn't always very subtle, I feel like It's A Wonderful Life has just the right blend of darkness and light. Such a great movie.
