A Tolkien Blog Party 2021 - Giveaway and Tag

Now, this has definitely been the year for blog parties on my site and all of them have been excellent! However, I'm not lying when I say that I've been waiting all year for this blog party! I've finally read all of The Lord of The Rings books and I plan on reading The Silmarillion, Unfinished Tales and The Children of Hurin next year.  As always Rachel has provided the party with some great giveaway prizes.

1. Aragorn: Favorite Tolkien hero/heroine

- That's a tough one...Elrond has always been my favorite character followed by Haldir. So it's a tie between the two elves!

2. Boromir: Favorite Tolkien character arc

- If Eowyn coming to her senses and falling in love with Faramir counts then yes, their love story was a defining character arc for the both of them.

3. Frodo: Favorite song or poem by Tolkien

All that is gold does not glitter,
Not all who wander are lost;
The old that is strong does not wither,
Deep roots are not reached by frost.

From the ashes a fire shall be woken,
A light from the shadow shall spring;
Renew shall be blade that was broken:
The crownless again shall be king.

4. Gandalf: Favorite wise Tolkien quotation
'We will have peace!' ... 'Yes we will have peace,' he said, now in a clear voice, 'we will have peace, when you and all your works have perished - and the works of your dark master to whom you would deliver us! You are a liar, Saruman, and a corrupter of men's hearts. You hold out your hand to me, and I perceive only a finger of the claw of Mordor. Cruel and cold! Even if your war on me was just - as it was not, for you were ten times as wise as you would have no right to rule me or mine for your own profit as you desired - even so, that will you say of your torches in Westfold and the children that lie dead there? And they hewed Hama's body before the gates of the Hornburg, after he was dead. When you hang a gibbet from your window for the sport of your own crows, I will have peace with you and Orthanc. So much for the house of Eorl. A lesser son of great sires am I, but I do not to lick your fingers. Turn elsewhere. But I fear your voice has lost its charm.'

~ King Theoden - The Two Towers: The Voice of Saruman

5. Gimli: A Middle-earth location you'd like to visit

- I can never have just one. I mean it's Middle-Earth. So my top three would be Hobbiton followed very close by Rivendell and then Beorn's farm.

6. Legolas: Favorite Middle-earth Weapon

- The Elvish bows and arrows.

7. Merry: Favorite way to celebrate Tolkien's stories

- Writing about them!

8. Pippin: Favorite funny Tolkien quotation

- “Yes, I am here. And you are lucky to be here too after all the absurd things you've done since you left home.”

9. Samwise: A Middle-earth food you'd like to try

- Beorn's honey cakes.

  1. So, SO excited for this week. :D

I love your answers! And I love the pictures you used for them.

Ahh, Elrond!! I have an appreciation post on him coming in a few days; I love seeing him get some recognition!

Beorn's farm would be such a cool place to visit. There are entirely too many wonderful locations in Middle-earth.

    1. I seriously have been waiting all year for this blog party and now that I've read the books (finally) I feel like I can really take part in it.

Thank you! Some of them were kind of hard, especially the favorite hero one!

I've noticed that Elrond has been getting quite a bit of love lately and he deserves it!

I love how they did Beorn's farm in The Hobbit films. So cut off from the rest of the world and an absolute shelter from the outside.

2 - Eowyn & Faamir - I've always love a good love story and this pair seems perfect.

5 - They all sound good.

    6 - Same here.

    9 - Cake you say? I'm in.

    Have a lovely day.

Thank you for your comments : )

I love getting comments, long or short, whether you agree with me or not. .

Just be kind. I don't tolerate any rudeness at all. So just be careful with what you write and how you write it.
