Ivy Miranda

My blogging timeline is well over 14 years now and this blog is slowly approaching its tenth anniversary. Time goes by fast when you're having fun.

Writing-obviously-is my primary passion as well as reading and watching movies/shows which normally lead to reviews for both. I still love going to the movie theater! And I tend to get terribly sucked into television programming, usually British Drama (Poldark, Downton Abbey, Call The Midwife, etc.) and I feel no shame. I will admit that I tend to be pretty competitive when it comes to movie reviews...

In 2012, I unexpectedly found myself sucked in the MCU back when I saw The Avengers and I haven't regretted it since. I've loved Harry Potter since I was a kid and pretty much grew up believing in Narnia.

For years I've battled my weight (nothing too extreme), but my health wasn't good. So, I took the initiative and started to carefully monitor my eating and has reaped some wonderful benefits! Believe it's possible! I also love the gym and working out is stress relieving for me.

I live out in the country-literally 7 minutes away from the real Radiator Springs-and consider myself a country girl, but certainly not a nature girl. Meaning, no camping. At all! Reading underneath my family's Bradford pear trees is absolute heaven.

And Barnes & Noble.

That's heaven too!

After meeting online 12 years ago,
my friend and I finally met (quite accidentally) in Washington D.C.

  1. Hi! :) I LOVE YOUR BLOG. <3 It seems we have a lot of the same interests. <3 (I love Tolkien, and I love Les Mis, and I LOOOOVE Downton. And I like Jane Foster.) Anyway! Awesome.

  2. I love Downton Abbey! Thank you for becoming a "member" of my Downton Abbey fan blog!
And thank you for becoming a follower of my main blog, 'Wonderland Creek'- I'm truly delighted to find another D A fan!

  3. Hi, thank you very much for your comment on my Harry Potter post! I like your blog, so I'll be following with Bloglovin'! :)

  4. Hi! I found your blog through Sarah's (How to Watch a Movie), and…I think I'm really going to like it. Gilmore Girls…Call the Midwife…BBC Robin Hood…Lord of the Rings…yes indeedy:D

  5. Hi Ivy, I was searching and I came on your lovely blog!
I love Downton Abbey, Robin Hood BBC and Call the Midwife!

  6. Hi, Ivy! Thank you so much for agreeing to participate in my We Love Lucy blogathon!

I have one teeny request and it's completely my fault. I had to change the blogathon button backgrounds. I discovered I was accidentally violating copyright by changing the color of the background I had used (it's the same as my blog background and the artist who I purchased from is the only one permitted by copyright to change the colors). So the backgrounds are new on all the buttons. Would you mind going and selecting a new button for me? I'm so sorry for the hassle, but would really appreciate it. ❤

  7. Kizzy - I like that name. Mind if I borrow it for a character in my one of stories?

I definitely have vastly different taste in things than you. I used to love superhero movies but now they don't interest me as much, I'm more into watching Chinese or Korean tv shows instead but I do occasionally watch a movie or two.

I've never made any kind of 'before I die' list but I definitely would like to learn archery, visit the oldest library in the world, write and publish a novel, but no bungee jumping or skydiving for me, I'm too much of a scaredy cat to do so. I tried #40 once but all I did was brought a how-to book and I never even got around to reading it. #44 - I only learned how to knit scarves and crochet a little bit - this two things requires a lot of patience.

Now I think I need to rewrite my about page.

It's nice to meet you, Ivy. Have a lovely day.

    1. Kizzy is actually a character from Alexander Hayley's book, Roots and my family thought it would be a cute name for a cat.

I've never been able to get an interest into Asian culture or media. I hate Anime in any form and especially people who insist that I should watch and read it.

My 'before I die' list is somewhat half/half. Half I know I can do if I put the time and effort into it, the other half requires money and a passport. So, I'll work on the half that I actually know I can cross off.

  8. Hi! This is a sincere thank you and a reminder that the "We Love Lucy Blogathon" begins on Augsut 6th. I look forward to your blog post! ❤

Thank you for your comments : )

I love getting comments, long or short, whether you agree with me or not. .

Just be kind. I don't tolerate any rudeness at all. So just be careful with what you write and how you write it.
