February's Prompt
A scene at the piano
Sense and Sensibility (1995)
Since Heidi took one of my all-time favorite piano scenes for her post, I'll do my second favorite. And in following the trend of Jane Austin's love of pianoforte romances, mine is the first meeting of Colonel Brandon and Marianne Dashwood. Such a beautiful and simple scene that connects Colonel Brandon's personal loneliness and lack happiness to Marianne's youth and beauty. Clearly, he has suffered great losses and while he hides it, he seems to desire happiness and hopeful love. Sometimes it takes one small and simple moment for someone to remember what is beautiful and good.
This scene is magnificent. <3 One of my all-time favorites, too!
